I was looking for a place to enjoy a surprise getaway with my husband, and this was a perfect choice. (Even he said so!) No doilies, no fluff. Extremely comfortable and beautiful accommodations; great views; scrupulously clean. We enjoyed the quiet and comfort so much. Kind and attentive hosts. A refreshing retreat!

The Daffodil Suite was a perfect place for us to enjoy the mornings, then take a walk to the downtown, come back for a rest in the afternoon and return again to the darling downtown. We appreciated the owner’s obvious care for their place and enjoyed their interior design choices. The suite is cozy and pleasing to be in.

Great location, quiet yet within walking distance to town. Big room, nice size kitchen and bath. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. Wonderful linens and towels, top quality. Close to Apple Hill for fall activities and Boeger winery, one of our favorite foothill wineries. Walked into town for dinner and had a great meal at Farm Table. Will definitely stay here again.

Wake up and have breakfast at the kitchen table. Take a morning stroll around the neighborhood, past stately Victorian /Art & Crafts homes on tree lined streets. Walk over to Main Street for lunch. Investigate the shops, including the oldest hardware store west of the Mississippi. Most times the owner is behind the counter.

Now that you have the feel for Placerville, take a drive to explore the history and many outdoor activities a short drive in any direction. Come “home” to your suite and rest in the backyard hammock, fire up the back yard BBQ in the summer. In the winter, get comfortable in a cozy arm chair with your book or watch your favorite show on Netflix (provided free of charge).

Like to gaze out the window at the treeline above Placerville or see the 1850’s era Union Cemetery. The Daffodil room has a wall of widows that give you a birds eye view on the surroundings.
