Ski Trip from Bay Area – Overnight in Placerville

Consider Placerville.  Relax, have dinner in the Bay Area and wait for the traffic to thin out.  Leave around 8:00 PM and you will arrive in Placerville just after 10:00 PM.  Time to unwind a but and get a good nights sleep before your ski day on Saturday.

The morning drive to skiing at Siera-at-Tahoe, 50 min east of Placerville,provides beautiful scenery as the two lane road meanders along the South Fork of the American river,

The terrain changes to shear rocky peaks at Twin Bridges.

After a full day of skiing, you are back in Placerville and safely on the other side of the snow line in time for an early dinner.

Stay in the Placerville area on Sunday as long as possible to enjoy the many local wineries, restaurants, hiking opportunities or any of the other things Placerville has to offer.

Have dinner in the area and head back to the Bay Area after the Tahoe traffic has thinned out. Leaving Placerville at 7:00 PM gets you back in San Francisco by 9:15PM.

Skipping the drive into the Tahoe Valley and back you have more time to play and enjoy the weekend.
